'Buispost' is the Dutch name for a Pneumatic Tube System. This website has been made in the Dutch language. You are now in the English section. The navigation and several pages have been translated already into English. The other pages will follow soon. My apologies for the possible grammatical errors, I hope you will inform me about them.
In my daily job I came in contact with the use of Pneumatic Tube Systems for the transport of goods. Working with these systems made me enthusiastic about everything that has to do with these interesting technical installations. After all, now and then you browse the Internet and sometimes you find an article in an illustrated magazine or newspaper. In the course of the time it became a very nice collection. And when, at some moment, also the development of Internet websites got my interest, the link was rapidly laid and the idea of making a website concerning pneumatic Tube Systems came forward.
After some preparation, on April 25th 2007 the website BUISPOST.EU appeared on the Internet for the first time. And within some months it scored an indication on the first page at many search engines and rapidly positive response appeared from several angles. Of course from the (to me anyway) expected angle, the technique, but also from an unexpected angle, the postage and stamp enthusiasts. Pneumatic Tube Systems nowadays are only used for the transport of goods within building complexes, while a century ago the installation was also used for sending mail in dozens of large world cities. Therefore it also is a part of the industrial heritage. And as a result, beside of the technical information, there also came very old and interesting postage stamps, letters and postcards available.

The aim of the website BUISPOST.EU is offering independent information for everyone who wants to know more about the history, the current use and the possible future of the transport technique Pneumatic Tube System.
